The Towson University had already about its student financial aid grant for the purposes of expanding its nursing educational program in the University System of Maryland in Hagerstown for the academic year of 2009 to 2010. According to Breitenbach who is the Towson nursing program director in USM-H stated that these nursing programs got a rapid growth ever since it already started in 2006. With that, this financial support will allow to increase towards the undergraduate enrollment especially during the semester of spring season.

Its been announce that about twenty one learners have already admitted to this undergraduate educational program in this season and about 16 additional learners will be admitted to the next season of spring of the upcoming 2010 according to Breitenbach. As well, its been informed that additional faculty members was already been hired last August and another additional faculty member will plan to hired in the upcoming spring in order to meet the numbers of learners that will be studying in their school as part of their expansion. This educational grant money came from a fundraising initiative program that entirely aimed of doubling the numbers of nursing graduates of this Maryland. The first round of the fund that been receive will be use to provide additional operations of catering its expenses in order to add the nursing schools faculty members, learners, and clinical technology.

In the statewide, its initial educational grants will increase the numbers of this nurses that been graduating in the area of Maryland through 300 and additional 20 faculty positions. In addition, the expansion fund of Towson’s nursing career development program at the USM-H will serve as a support of developing and implementation towards a comprehensive Nursing Retention and even Success program. Towson University is just one of the prestigious nursing schools in the country that is quite in support of responding to the demand of nursing professionals especially the registered nurses in order to provide healthcare services to the public. Nursing profession especially registered nurses is one of the important professions that provide a larger contribution towards healthcare system development especially upon providing healthcare services.
