The nursing career education programs that will be receiving towards this grants includes the Montgomery College, Anne Arundel Community College, Prince George’s Community College, the College of Southern Maryland, John Hopkins University School of Nursing and Howard Community College.

As of now, its been estimated that about 33% of the state population are now becoming older that are running to 50 through the next year to come and its expected to grow even more for about 40% by the coming 2020 according to the Maryland Department of Planning. According to the vice president of Maryland Hospitals Association that as of now people are living longer, become healthier, even more active and wanted to stay the way they are. As of now, Maryland will be requiring or needing about 10,000 nurses in order to meet this huge demand. Moreover, its been considered that the average age of this nurses in Maryland is only about 47 and 43% of the nurses who are planning to retire in the next few years according to Nancy Fiedler who is the spokeswoman of Maryland Hospitals Association.
