Financial Aid Support Given to Nursing Program

Nursing education is quite in demand here in the United States due to the nursing shortage that been happening in the country. Until now, the country is still on their quest of strengthening and increasing the numbers of nurses in the country in order to cater the vast demand of patients who needs their healthcare services especially to the elderly individuals. Since, it has been noticed and foresees that a great number of people will be reaching in their adult years for the next five years to come but the only concern is that the number of current nurses is not enough to cater the number of older individuals who needs their healthcare services. Aside of that also, it has been observed that for the next five years to come many more nurses are reaching in their retirement ages. For that case, there is a severe need of nurses in the country. As the nursing shortage had become a quite issue in the country, the different nursing schools together with the governmental and private sectors in the country continually made some resolution in order to resolve the situation. The most common aspects that they have given out is the nursing scholarship program and there are several private sectors who have given their assurance that they will be willing serve as one of the sponsors of this nursing scholarship program. Just recently, the assurance of private sectors about giving out a student financial aid had been confirmed because the Simmons College had already receive a $ million nursing scholarship fund from Phyllis Nickerson Dotson who was an alumnus of that school but now had been successful on its business career but at the same time wants to share his great success to others. The scholarship money is quite good enough to support 10-24 nursing learners in the school each year. Aside of that also, the scholars will receive mentoring and networking from the faculty of Simmons College.
Although, this amount is quite enough for selected learners but this is already can be a great help in order upon strengthening and increasing the numbers of nurses in the nation. As well, the department of health and the healthcare institutions are also planning out upon increasing the numbers of enrollees in the different medical schools in the country for an entire development in the healthcare system.
