South Carolina Nurses Foundation will administer the granting of scholarships to qualified applicants. The said non-profit foundation has existed since 1974. Unlike the student loan programs, this grant will not be paid back by the students after graduation. The first 30 batch of nursing scholars are envisioned to become members of the teaching force in colleges and universities to continue the program of strengthening the nursing profession in this part of the country, so as not to repeat the same shortage in nurses. Although, most of the nursing schools had lowered their tuition fees but it was expected that they can still regain the money the money due to the expectant lots of learners who will be enrolling to the nursing program due to the fact that there are several career opportunities that waits on their career field.
