The issue of nursing shortage in the United States is still one of the major concerns in the United States. In this video entitled the Special report: nursing shortage, it tackles or discuss about the nursing shortage the United Nation is experiencing about. As well, it presented the main reasons about these nurses shortage. The first one is that, there are only few individuals who get nursing programs. In which, there are only few learners who are enrolled to the different
nursing school in the country. Thus, the production of the nurses will lessen. Another reason for this nursing shortage is that, several registered nurses and nursing assistance are estimated to be retiring from their nursing jobs for the coming years. The third one is the lack of nursing teachers that will teach for aspirant nurses; thus making it insufficient to continue the nursing program. With these situations, the United States government together with the different medical institutions and private sectors or organizations had been united in order to form several sets of schemes in order to counteract the occurrence of this nursing shortage in the different places or medical and health care institutions in the United States. One of the best examples of the schemes that have been created is the recent fund raising program Johnson and Johnson have launch to be benefited by the Pennsylvania state especially the nursing school. Since, it has been found out the state of Pennsylvania is experiencing a severe nursing shortage in their area. The launching of these fund raising program will be a great help in resolving the nursing shortage in their area. The fund raising campaign that was launched is called Johnson and Johnson Campaign program for Nursing’s Future. This campaign program was organized in order to raise funds for the financial assistance of the
students who will be aspiring to become future nurses but financially hard up. As well, it had been reported that the fund raising program that the Johnson and Johnson have launched had already reached an amount of $550,000. This amount will be allotted for the nursing scholarship and educational grant for the students who will be taking registered nursing degree or vocation nursing program.
In that manner, it is quite clear that American individuals especially the Pennsylvanian people are very much responsive in resolving the nursing shortage by increasing the nursing students in the nursing school.
